Happy New Year! - Its still early enough in January to say that right?
Swiftly moving on... it is becoming more and more apparent (especially in the month of 'new year, new you' job ads) that life as a job seeker is tricky.
Whether its endlessley scouring the job boards, trying to avoid copycat adverts and lists of requirements that ask for unicorns that don't exist, or being subjected to badly written sales pitches on a daily basis, it is becoming clear that candidates main struggle is finding content that does one crucial thing...
Explain what the role actually consists of!
So with that in mind, I wanted to take you on a journey.
That journey begins with a Global Organisation in the Finance/Banking space who are transforming the way they deliver software projects. They are going through a company-wide digital transformation with a view to becoming more Agile and improving their delivery mechanisms across the board. Simply put... they are innovating. They are no longer focusing on what other banks are doing - rather, they are looking at what companies like Facebook, Google and Amazon are doing.
That journey continues with the role itself... and due to its hybrid nature, I wanted to highlight a couple of key points...
First and foremost, they are looking for an experienced Scrum Master with a background in Agile delivery who can continue to drive continuous improvement across their Development teams. You will become part of a new team within the organisation, focusing on the development of a range of APIs to help modernise and shape the future of their technological roadmap.
You will provide the leadership and environment for them to be able to deliver a portolio of Web and Mobile applications and your role will involve working across the full end-to-end delivery lifecycle, evangelising and promoting Agile/Scrum methodologies whilst ensuring stakeholder buy-in throughout.
Moreover, you will engage with the software engineering teams, continuously providing all of the necessary help, guidance and advice, whilst consistently managing the expectations of the business (including C-level stakeholders). Therefore, extensive knowledge and experience of Agile methodologes is absolutely vital.
One of the keys to being successful in this role is the ability to work in a dynamic, challenging and fast-moving environment which is still getting to grips with Agile delivery processes. You will need to be able to demonstrate creativity and innovation and must be able to engage with both technical and non technical colleagues on a continuous basis.
Ultimately, a background as either a Technical Consultant, Software Engineer or Delivery Manager would be perfect for this role... if that describes you then you are potentially onto a winner.
The role offers a base salary between 45,000 - 55,000 as well as a comprehensive benefits package including a bonus (15-20%), pension (10% non-contributory) and private healthcare.
